narthex furniture

(GIDEA PARK, ESSEX)

TEXT

The client for the project in Gidea Park approached us to provide bespoke pieces of furniture for the narthex. GTA created bookshelves, notice boards, tables and movable mass book storage as part of a suite to match in with the works undertaken within the church.

We used the same simple colour palette and materials from the refurbishment in the new pieces. The pieces of furniture were constructed using oak which tied in with the two new oak doors in the narthex. The movable mass book storage had the Chi Rho symbol we had etched into the woodwork. The etched symbol had dark grey colour embedded into it with dark grey shelves to match.

All pieces were exclusively designed by Green Tea Architects and built by Edward Roney Furniture.
